Dora’s Corner: July Updates from East Africa

Schools were on a 10-day holiday break, and they resumed on the 12th of July. We have completed projects and are working with the school administration to prepare for commissioning, and these are:

·         Ringa Girls: Construction of a 120-bed capacity dormitory, an ablution block comprising of 4 SAN-PLAT latrines and 4 bathrooms that the girls can use and is adjacent to the dormitory. 4-door latrine block next to the classes and a 2-door latrine block for the support staff.

·         Atono: Construction of 4 different SAN-PLAT toilet blocks, each block serving the key target groups- girls, teachers, early-year learners and boys.

·         Nyamos: Construction of 4 different SAN-PLAT toilet blocks, each block serving the key target groups- girls, teachers, early-year learners and boys.

·         Kodida: Construction of 2 classrooms

We commissioned the Lake Primary School latrine project on 24th June 2022 and the event was attended by the Country Director, Community Facilitator and Contractor.
