Experience the vibrant spirit of Africa in local homes and villages and on the open plains of East Africa in 2017! This unique trip combines in-depth visits to projects funded by Global Partners for Development, opportunities to get to know our African development partners and other community members, and some of the best African wildlife viewing possible. You will be warmly welcomed into villages that are off the beaten path in rural areas that most tourists never reach and then graciously hosted on safari to view some of the most spectacular sights in East Africa.

SEE THE DIFFERENCE, MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

For 35 years, Global Partners for Development has helped implement hundreds of successful community development projects with local organizations, supporting health, education, water, sanitation, farm animal management and women’s income generation projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Join us as Global Partners’ staff supports our African partners in vetting, implementing and evaluating these life-changing projects.

THE SAFARI OF A LIFETIME

The Swahili word, ‘safari,’ means journey, and you will get to witness one of nature’s ultimate journeys while on safari during the great wildebeest migration. It will also be the time of year when you can hopefully catch hundreds of calves being born on the plains of the Serengeti.

Feb 1                        Relax in the morning after our long journey to Kenya. You can go boating in Lake Victoria or explore the many shops in Kisumu. In the afternoon, we will drive overland through the beautiful countryside on our way to Oyugis. We will spend the night in nearby Kisii at the Nyakoe Hotel (www.hotelnyakoe.com) during our time in Oyugis.

Feb 7-9                   Go on safari in two of the most pristine national parks in Africa: the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home of the famous Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti National Park. You will drive first to the Ngorongoro Crater and then to southern Serengeti, center of the spectacular annual wildebeest migration. You will stay in luxury tent camps and experience two daily wildlife drives and a breathtaking sunset drive on the Serengeti.  (www.kirurumu.net)
